The Lower Kuskokwim School District offers ACT and SAT testing to all 11th and12th grade students who are planning to apply to a four year Bachelor’s degree program or as a requirement for merit scholarship applications.
SAT testing is only available on scheduled national test dates at Bethel Regional High School.
For ACT testing, students in villages should request their Site Administrator to make arrangements with the Career Counselor to administer the ACT at their schools. Students in the villages, who need the writing component of the ACT, must make their own travel arrangements to BRHS on the scheduled national test dates.
ACCUPLACER if offered through UAF-KUC Kuskokwim University Campus. UAF and UAA use this test for identifying the skill levels of incoming freshmen in math and English. A cut score determined by each university indicates a student’s readiness for first year college math and English courses.
Scores that are below a certain level do not prevent acceptance to the college or university, but they do place the student in developmental or remedial classes until the student is ready for first year coursework. For information regarding Accuplacer testing at village sites, contact your Site Administrator, or your Career Counselor.
