    Making Algebra Child's Play (Repeat of DWIS session)

    This 2 part webinar series is recommended for teachers of mathematics (who missed the session during the DWIS) in grades 3 - 8, including those working with special education students. Teachers of the gifted in grade 2 and teachers of high school students struggling with algebra will also find this workshop of value.

    In this 2 part webinar series you will see how the visual and kinesthetic approach of Hands-On Equations demystifies the learning of algebra, thereby providing students with a solid foundation for algebraic thinking and for a traditional Algebra 1 course.

    ALEKS Math

    Using ALEKS in a LKSD Classroom

    ALEKS is part of the new math curriculum. It assesses students’ math skills and can adjust to those needs. In LKSD the program is used primarily to support students as part of an RTI plan but can also be used to support regular classroom instruction. It is aligned with the new Glencoe MATH Course 1-3 and Glencoe HS textbooks.

    In this session we will be covering setting up ALEKS, monitoring and reporting student progress, implementation ideas and more as time allows.
